‘The Great Divide’ is the second painting set in an imaginary landscape. Inspiration included the symbolic language of primitive X-ray paintings and also the paintings of Helen Frankenthaler and Lee Krasner, whose work contributed to the Abstract Expressionist Movement. The title of the painting includes biological, metaphysical and spiritual meaning and is open to interpretation.
